August fun....

Hello to all our readers. I apologize for being behind in updating the blog but since school started back we have been so busy. Things are good here at the Rhodes' house and I am happy to report that Ian is doing FABULOUS at school! Of course he has the BEST TEACHER EVER :) but I give the credit to Ian for jumping right in and being a star student :) He has learned so much in the last 3 weeks that I can hardly believe it. His teacher told me he is learning his letters very quickly and is excited about all the activities she does. He has quite a few girl "friends" in his class and talks about them a lot :) Cute! He has done some great work and we have proudly displayed everything on the fridge :) Hopefully the rest of the year will go as smoothly as the past few weeks.

In other news, we have continued riding at Horse N Around but have been riding some different horses...Bob and Ryder. They move a lot more and seem to work the boys a lot. We have been going swimming at the aquatic center and are even planning Parker's birthday party for the last Saturday it is open...sweet Parker's 3rd birthday, September 4th. Parker has continued his speech, OT, and PT with Union County but those services end when he is 3 so we have been gearing up for his probable transition to a special needs preschool (Walter Bickett Ed. Center) here in Monroe. This coming Tuesday is the transition meeting when we find out what type of services he is eligible for through the school system.

Life has been good, compared to before our move and bankruptcy (we went to court on July 28th and it was stressful sitting there waiting to talk to the judge but once we were called it was over in a matter of minutes). We love our rental house and feel like we are in the right place at this point in our life. Now, fingers crossed that Hyrum finds a job!!!

They have applied for a grant through the Pepsi Refresh program and if they get enough votes they could win $50,000!! The grant becomes "live" on the Pepsi website September 1st and I will link it here on my blog as well as on Facebook so..stay tuned!
